Lighten the way with laser

By April 16, 2026Uncategorized

Skin ageing is inevitable. As we age, the skin becomes dry, thin, and loose due to loss of elastin and collagen.

Contributing factors to this include:

  • Intrinsic Factors:
This relates to the natural ageing process, menopause, genetic factors, and facial expression. Often repeated habitual movements of the face, for example frowning, can leave you with deeper lines between the brows.
  • Extrinsic Factors:
Our climate plays a big part in accelerating skin ageing, e.g. wind, extremes of temperature, the sun, our diet, drinking alcohol, and smoking.

To combat these factors, maintaining a healthy diet, avoiding extremes of temperature, avoiding the sun, using sunblock, and using the appropriate products (e.g. moisturisers, peptides, and active ingredients such as vitamins A, B, & C) are all important. As is visiting a reliable skin care therapist for the correct advice that will address your skin care concerns.

Here are my laser suggestions for the winter months.

Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis is a non-ablative photorejuvenation treatment with no downtime.

Non-ablative – what does that mean?
The laser does not exfoliate or take layers of skin off.

The laser light with micropulses of laser energy heats up the middle layer of the skin called the papillary dermis to stimulate new collagen. The laser stimulates the body’s own process to activate collagen remodelling.

With new collagen production you will have less redness, plumper skin, fine lines reduced, pore size reduced, and acne scars reduced.

This is an ideal treatment for the face, neck, décolletage, especially in the areas where there are noticeable signs of sun damage and ageing.

A series of 4–6 treatments are recommended for the best results. Gradual improvement will be seen over a period of 3 months, with results continuing to improve over time.

Acutip – Pigmentation & Red Veins

Using a broad spectrum of light to heat the target tissue to help tone down or eradicate your unsightly brown spots and red veins.

We have the Acutip technology which provides speed, accuracy, and pinpoint precision to ensure safety, delivering amazing results to help clear single brown pigmented lesions.

This device is safe to be used on most skin types with no downtime.

Most lesions can be treated in a single appointment.

Vascular – Red Veins

Superficial face veins and unsightly leg veins affect both men and women.

With the ideal wavelength, flexible parameters, and superior laser system, a broad range of vessels from very small spider veins (telangiectasia) to deeper veins can be treated safely and effectively. Your Clinician will guide you on which vessels are suitable and which are not.

Our machine is suitable for darker, light, or tanned skins.

How does this work?
The pulses of light energy cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, which then eventually destroys the blood vessel, which is later reabsorbed back into your body. The blood will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface.

One to two treatments are usually enough depending on the colour and size, and how extensive the vessels are.

You may experience some pinkness and swelling, or the odd bruise over the first 48 hours. To keep your body temperature cool, we recommend keeping exercise to a minimum over this period, having cool showers, no saunas, and keeping out of the sun. Wear sunblock!

You will notice clearer and less red skin as improvement occurs over the next week.

Laser Hair Removal / Reduction

Our medical-grade laser system for hair removal treats all skin types and tones, from light to dark to tanned skin.

With a longer wavelength and an effective cooling design at the tip of the hand piece, this allows the hairs to be disabled easily while keeping safety at the forefront.

The main areas to treat are the face, legs, underarms, arms, chest, back, bikini line, upper lip, and chin.

Laser treatments for hair reduction are not quick treatments. It requires time and commitment on a regular basis from you. The hair strength, thickness, the area being treated, the colour, and your active hair growth cycle will determine the number of sessions required and how often.

In the days post treatment there will be very little to no downtime. There may be slight redness. The hair usually sheds. You will see regrowth come through—do not pluck or wax, shaving is acceptable.

Sunblock is a must.
