Excessive Sweating

Excessive Sweating & Hyperhidrosis

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) can be an embarrassing condition which can have a negative impact on confidence. This can be made worse for professionals who need to look their best at work. Visible signs of excessive sweating such as underarm stains, dripping palms or wet clothing making those affected look less confident or nervous.

This is the last thing you want during an important presentation or sales pitch.

How Botox® helps to address excessive sweating?

Localised injections of Botox® can prevent excessive sweating of the armpits. The Botox® treatment injection will work by temporarily blocking the nerve that stimulates sweat in the armpit. Preventing the chemical signals from triggering the gland and therefore reducing the amount of sweat produced. This procedure doesn’t hold in the sweat; it instead results in sweat being dispersed to different regions of the body which aren’t problem areas for perspiration.

The procedure can also be undergone by people without Hyperhidrosis, but are still looking to reduce the amount of sweat they produce from their armpits. Patients should see a significant reduction in the amount of sweat over the first 4 weeks post-treatment.

Excessive Sweating Treatment Duration

  • In general, it usually takes 20-30 minutes per treatments, lasts on average for 7 months and discomfort is minimal and of course over with before you know it!
  • This being said for many people this treatment is a once a year event, with pre summer (or pre holiday) being the selected time.
  • Studies have shown that 94% of people have responded with an average reduction of sweating by 83%.
